The start of the new era

Lars Christian Kræmmer har overdraget kunstprojektet ARTMONEY til kunstneren Catrine Holte.

Hendes officielle erklæring kommer here:

My name is Catrine Holte and I’m honored to be able to announce historical news.

27 years ago, Lars Christian Kræmmer walked into a record store. When he walked out, he had a CD in his hand. Paid for with an artwork created for the occasion. He didn’t know it then, but Lars Christian had just created artmoney, a global phenomenon with lasting effect. Decades later, artmoney is the world’s only global currency backed by art with more than USD 250,000,000 worth of artmoney issued.

Effective today, I have taken over Artmoney from Lars Christian. I’ve acquired a 93% ownership stake in the project while Lars Christian retains 7%. I’ll be running Artmoney going forward while Lars Christian steps down to focus on other projects.

Briefly about myself:

I’m an emerging contemporary artist with a focus on sculpture. My art practice revolves around the tragedy of the modern person. I’m based in Copenhagen, Denmark. I’ll be developing Artmoney alongside my husband Kristian Holte. Kristian has deep knowledge of the art market, investing and law. For years we have been dreaming of weaving together our professional lives at the highest level. I’m “Art” while Kristian is “Money”.

Our vision is to make Artmoney the ultimate stamp of approval for the world’s most extraordinary emerging artists.

If you have any questions, inquiries or ideas, or just want to say hi, please reach out at catrine@artmoney.org.

One last thing.

What if every serious artist could make a living from art?

Sincerely

Catrine Holte, artist & CEO, Artmoney

Falklamper

Mother Annette Falk Lund and daughter Karin Falk, both born in Germany, have been based in Copenhagen since 1993. They have been working together on the collaboration project, Falk Lamps, while still focusing their individual art studios.

Falk lamps has developed from a curiosity for the intersection between art and design. Every single Falk Lamp has been hand painted with an experimental approach towards colours, motifs and their abstract expression. The slow process layering paint on top of paint, gives the art work a depth and different textures, creating individual and varied expressions. The light and the image from the shadows shows its own story, while the glow of the lamp gives each work of art a new life and allows the artwork to change dynamically with the light and tells its own story.

Karin Falk studied model construction in Copenhagen, and later focused her attention on working with paper and three-dimensional sculptures using collage techniques.

Annette Falk has a cand.mag. in political sciences and history. Since 1998 she has been working as a professional artist and has sold works to names such DYALOG A/S, Siemens, Novo Nordisk, Falck A/S and Edlund A/S. Most of her work consists of oil and gouache painting on coarse canvas and limestone paper. An obsession with narratorial and a deep respect and curiosity for the abstract, that derive their attraction from the interplay between lines and colours.
