About the motifs:

An all-encompassing creative joy accompanies me when I design these patterns, and I feel driven by playfulness. In contrast to the coloristic ornamental pictures that I paint with gouache on paper, the meditative effect of drawing in black and white plays a central role, here. These almost meditational images are reminiscent of mandalas, which in Hinduism and Buddhism are square or circular motifs in a religious and spiritual context that address birth and death, life and existence. For me, they are an instrument of relaxation and a way to pursue my need for playful design and urge for exploration.
